Yay for A/C!

June 22, 2009

The air conditioner works pretty well on this very tiny apartment.  It feels great since its been so muggy lately.

Still no change on the bridge.  This is beyond nuts at this point.  Watching Saint Ange on instant watch.

I watched Perhaps Love today, because I adore Takeshi Kaneshiro.  It was interesting, I got lost a couple of times, probably because I was only half watching most of the movie.  It wasn’t bad, interesting for a musical, but I’m not sure I would watch it a second time.  The next movie on the list is Phantom of the Opera with Robert Englund, can’t wait to watch that one, heard it was good.

I just filled out two more applications tha I’ll be dropping off tomorrow.  I need to finish up my grad application so I can have that sent out friday.  Then I need to pay my application fee some how, I’m not sure how to do that.  Whatever, I could a little whiles to pay it.  $76 dollars, just to possibly get rejected.  Application fees are ridiculous, you really gotta pick your schools or else you’ll be paying a crapload.

My supervisor is out on medical leave for the time being, its a small blessing.  I’m going to make baklava for my final day there, which is inventory day, so I’ll make the day before since I go in at 3AM.

Ugh once more.

June 8, 2009

I’ve been sick today, started coming down with it yesterday.  I went in to work for an hour.  I feel like I’m loosing the hearing in my right ear.  I’m not sure if its blockage and leading to an ear infection or actual hearing loss.  I think its just blockage because I have times where I can hear just fine out of it.  Its like I really need to pop my ears.

So I hate my job.  I really hate my job.  I’m hoping once I get my referrals, that I can find out whether I get into grad school by the end of the summer.  I need to find another job.  I’ll work anything else besides this crap.  Maybe I’ll take swing by FYE and see if that job at FYE is part-time or full-time.  We shall see.  First things first is helping dusitn find a full-tme job before I think about trying to land something else.

The bridge is still closed off, which sucks.  I have a doctor’s appointment in two weeks and I’ll need a refill for my prescription then.  So I might not have an appointment yet again and I’ll probably have to get my refill in St. Regis.

Read the translation for Gackt’s new song Koakuma Heaven, and its hilarious.  Written from the point of view of what is essentially a prostitute and the way the translation can be done, very naughty.  It makes it even more hilarious that he performs it with the Ageha style girls, which apparently he finds very annoying and is sort of mocking with the song as well.

What I would give to be able to open my own bakery/cafe/sweet shop.  I would do damn near anything.  I know a space I wouldn’t mind, but its all a matter of money, though probably more like credit and my lack of credit history.  I really think we need to take the plunge, but thats just me.

Man, my stomach has been wonky for the last week and a half, it sucks.

Anime North 2009

May 28, 2009

So its almost a week after Anime North, and it freakin rocked which made the rest of this week totally suck more ass in comparison.  Friday was mainly spent driving, 4 and 1/2 hours isn’t fun for anybody but it was such a relief when we made it to the hotel.  Though the Crowne Plaza wasn’t too much of a walk, we are definitely booking the doubletree for next year since its right across the street from the convention centre and the panels are in the hotel.

Most of the money spent this year went to prints.  Since I have a decent job and we weren’t strapped for cash like last time, I was like “Oh, i’ll buy that one, and that one, and I’ll take three of those.”  But we still only spent like under $300, which I think is pretty damn good.  All of my pictures are on my facebook page, i’m just too lazy to upload them up onto here.

Feel free to peruse.

There’s only so much I can say, the con was awesome and beyond fund and the break from work we desperately needed.  Next year we are so going to the next level and cosplaying it up :)

Okay….

May 13, 2009

So facebook disabled my account because I was using a fake name according to them.  Well I didn’t my name sounded so out of place that you could mistake it for being fake.  Way to go facebook.  I remember reading something on Indian Country, apparently I won’t be the first or the last native american this has happened to.  Way to go us and our fairly unique looking names and apparently they just can’t be real names.

I am tired

May 3, 2009

Sleepy at 10 PM, age has caught up with me, lol.

I think I need to schedule an eye exam, my vision with my glasses on doesn’t seem so clear for distance anymore.  Fun, fun, fun.  That’s blissfully dull.

I should have my own computer at work soon enough.  Weldon will be getting a new computer and I’ll be getting his laptop and I’m not sure if I’ll be moving with Weldon and Liz to the new office/coat room or if I’ll be placed into my own little closet to do my inventory stuff.  This job is aggravating my mirgaines, its freaking  shitty.  I can’t do this job together, I need relative quiet and some natural lighting.  Flourescents will be the death of me.  I would love to be sent to the 8 wide, its out back seperate from the Casino, its quiet, there’s windows, I only need to go around and grab the sheets and unlock the back room.  But whatev, I’ll work this job for as long as I can bare it.

I’m so tired, I think I’m just going to kick back and get ready for bed.

Three weeks left until we go to Anime North!! Ace!

Inventory day is dangerous

April 30, 2009

Not that putting in numbers is dangerous but since everyone is there at 4 AM counting and a few of us remain until noon, personalities run a little wonky.  Its amusing, yet troubling at the same time.

picture-013My first attempt at making onigiri and my first time working with short grain rice.  I’d say not bad overall.  They tasted good so I don’t really care.

I’m tired and I want a haircut.  I don’t have much else to say.

Roughly three more weeks until anime north!!

Great Lunch

April 27, 2009

Feeling a lot better today, since friday I’ve been taking Theraflu so half the bottle is gone so I think its done its stuff.  I’ve been feeling crap all week and having to watch stuff about this new swine flu going around doesn’t make you feel good instead.  But I should definitely just be stuffy now instead of sick.

We went out to lunch at what is becoming my new favorite place to go, Schnitzels (schnitzels.ca).  The food was awesome.  This time I got one of their wood oven pizzas, cheese with I think four different kinds of cheese on it.  But it was dessert that was freaking awesome, I think it was called Palacinka, it was marinated strawberries wrapped in a crepe covered with more sauce and whipped cream, we had them put caramel in it as well, it was frigging awesome!

I probably should have shrunk that but you have to see it in all its glory.   I also got a cappucino which was suprisingly good.  It wasn’t super bitter, though the coffee I had a work probably isn’t exactly the best comparison when it comes to coffee.

photo04271332Overall, great lunch.  Service was excellent yet again and the food just as good as the last time.  Now that I have an actual job, I leave tips now, its sad that that makes me feel proud, lol.

So if you’re ever in Cornwall, ON, go to Schnitzels.  Its on Pitt Street just a short walk from the Cornwall Square shopping centre.

Illness abound

April 20, 2009

How is it the more rest I seem to get, the more ill I feel?  Its practically evil in its proportions.

Ugh, I have to go to work tomorrow.  I don’t want to.  But there’s a meeting tomorrow about allocations, which shall become my domain apparently as it was decided on Thursday or whenever that was last week.  I’ll get my own work computer, mail box and everything.  I could eventually end up with a tiny little closet (office) to call my very own.

I am currently watching the live action version of Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend), not really sure how I’m feeling about it but so far not bad.

I need a hair cut, my ends are all dried out.  Though it can be annoying, I’m liking the length, my top layer is as long as what my hair use to be, which is pretty damn amazing considering my hair grows at the speed of nothing.

Work tomorrow is going to suck. Ugh….

Okay, real sort of update

April 18, 2009

I amuse myself with posting, so I can read things later.  I don’t know why, it keeps me occupied.

So about the job.  I work in a casino, in the food and beverage department.  Yes, a native working in an “indian” casino, far fetched I know.  But its fun, to an extent.  It keeps me busy and pays pretty damned good.  I can’t discuss the finer details due to confidentiality and all, I signed a paper and I would very much like to stay employed.

I haven’t really watched much in the way of movies or anime lately.  I actually enjoyed Twilight, painful shock of all shocks.  It might have helped that I was half lit( and by that I mean the viewing was accompanied by a bottle of wine consumed by myself), it didn’t hurt anyway.  I’ve mainly been just keeping up with Bleach and catching up with Samurai Deeper Kyo whenever its posted.

This book was freaking awesome.  I really enjoyed it, and the great thing was I had just picked it up on a whim, the cover was neat and it sounded interesting, but mainly it was the cover.  Its about a group of theives and their crazy schemes, There’s not much to say beyond that without me going overboard and explaining the entire book and ruining it.  But it was good, the humor was top notched,  very sharp and witty.  I’m not sure what else to say about it except read it!  I already have the sequel and started reading that.

Besides finally joining the rest of the world and getting a cell phone, we have purchased a brand new bed.  It. Is. Amazing.  I had the best nights sleep I’ve ever had in a very long time.  I knew the old bed was an absolute piece of crap but wow, after a night on a good bed, there are no words describe that evil coiled filled bastard.

So yeah, I’m going to go to sleep, but I work lovely Saturdays typically 9AM which is better than inventory days which are 2 weeks away.  Those days start at the ass crack of dawn at 4 AM and last until noon.

But enough of that, there is pie waiting.  Homemade apple pie courtesy of my mom.  Good stuff.

New but not

April 13, 2009

So I have a job now.  I’m not entirely sure what I do myself but I do whatever they give and/or ask me to do.  Its not bad, I moderately enjoy it.  But I’ve decided to apply to graduate school which I will do after our Anime North trip.  Applying for an M.A in Anthropology and sign up for some Japanese classes.  So general sort of idea of what I hope/plan to do.

Not much else going on.  I’ll touch on a book I recently read later, now back to some DS time.
